Business First Meetings - 2019
2019 was a year we can each reflect upon for changes and growth. A couple of our members transferred to other states or companies, one of our long-standing treasured members retired, while other members expanded where they were at. Regardless of the changes which took place, each lady has granted us memories and knowledge we will carry with us through 2020! Here's to a wonderful NEW YEAR AHEAD.... and NEW BEGINNINGS FOR ALL... 

Christmas 2019 Luncheon

November's meeting

November welcomed Maria Pitre, Esq. to speak about her business as a Real Estate Title Lawyer. There are important details when purchasing property or buying a home and Maria will mak certain it is all completed properly! SURE Title and Abstract can help you get though it with ease. J. Lynn Trahan then introduced her business, WRITE Way Web Design, and the ladies had another fun and successful meeting! 
Business First holds a closed meeting each October for the election of officers. 
Officers announced publicly in December.

September's meeting

Personal Trainer (and Traveling Trainer) Ashley Dempster will personalize your workout to fit your needs and get you in shape! After you thank her, head on over to see Christela Gregoire Spurlock with Matilda Jane. She carries sizes from 3 months old, boys and girls, to XXL in women's!

August Meeting

Danielle Jackson with Young Living Essential Oils discussed the science behind oils and answered several questions regarding how emotions affect different areas of the body. She was knowledgeable and is always willing to assist anyone with  their questions.  

July's Meeting
Another informative and delightful meeting!
Dr. Michelle Carr (Carr Chiropractic Clinic) tested our knowledge on the chiropractic industry.  Many people refer to chiropractors as "bone crackers" however, a chiropractor does not crack bones. A chiropractor manipulates your body to be in alignment with your spine. Dr. Carr's practice includes working on newborns. Many insurances include chiropractic care. 
Licensed Massage Therapist, Tori Buchannan LMT, shared the importance of taking time out for "SELF CARE." One of Tori's nightly habits to unwind is to grab a cup of hot tea to relax. She uses her favorite glass and reflects on her day. Taking time for yourself is vital to relieving stress. Some ideas Tori shared were: 
*Unplug from the internet and your phone for 24 hours
*Get a massage (Massage relaxes your body and mind)
*Exercise... Yoga is excellent for those who don't care for weight and cardio.
*Schedule a day off to do anything you want! Tori enjoys a day in her jammies! 
*Volunteer somewhere! (Helping others is a most satisfying way to feel positive.) 

June Meeting

Our ladies at BUSINESS FIRST held another excellent meeting in June! A special THANK YOU to our members, Kay Wolf of Key's Krewe of GEMS,  (Premier Designs) and Kat Crappel representing SHARE CARE U.S.A.

May's Meeting

Women empowering Women

May was an exceptional hit with speakers Selena Lormand representing Keller Williams Realty and Liz Breaux representing Freedom Mortgage. The meeting focused on how businesses intertwine with one another such as a Realtor finding a lender and a lender needing a title attorney as well as an insurance representative. Several  individuals  working together to ensure one family's dream comes true! 

April Meeting

Business First had 2 incredible speakers this month! Jennifer Zimmerle from Humana discussed medicare supplements and how individuals may benefit from taking advantage of this offer. She shared vital information that can assist you and your loved ones in their time of need when money, for most seniors, is on a strict budget. Guest Cristina P. Beazley with Rodan + Fields invited her own special guest, Jennifer McKay, a top level executive of R+F, and they shared how 2 women dermatologist coupled their knowledge and passion to create what is known as the #1 skincare line in the U.S. and North America as of 2017. 

March meeting

We had a wonderful meeting in March featuring Joan Shelly with Travel Dreams who explained the benefits of using a travel agent, especially for out of the country travel. Saving money is only one factor involved when you take advantage of her services. Heather Brown shared some of her personal journey which led to Melaleuca, the largest online wellness shopping club featuring hundreds of every day products, many of which are toxin-free.  

February meeting

Business speakers Tina Hebert (Sunflowers Floral Studio) and Danielle Jackson (Oil in the Family) were Member Speakers with featured guest Ben Broussard and Sarah Bacque appearing from THE EMILY HOUSE to discuss their role in assisting women in the Acadiana community.

Speakers, Anita Link of St. Pierre Promos and Maria Pitre of S.U.R.E. Title and Abstract gave excellent presentations pertaining to their field.
